Our "Roy's Collection" includes three images taken at Roy's Cafe on "old Route US66" in Amboy, CA.

While Amboy, California is not a ghost town, it is close to being one. The demise of Amboy resulted from the completion of I-40 in California during the 70's. I-40 bypassed the town, so most of the east-west traffic that used to have to go through town on US66, was now able to speedily continue around and away from it. Roy's Cafe, which for decades served cross-desert drivers, with water, gas, food, and a clean place to stay, no longer had a customer base.

That does not mean no one visits Amboy, today. Amboy attracts a wide variety of photographers and desert explorers. Local sites include:

1. Roy's Cafe

2. Amboy Crater

3. Amboy Shoe Tree

Several movies have been filmed at Roy's Cafe, including: Hitcher (1986), Kalifornia (1993) and Beneath the Dark (2010).

The Roy's Collection includes:

a) Roy's (Classic ribbon-winning version)

b) Roy's in BW&B (Black, White & Blue)

c) Roy's and the Desert Sky

Each image is professionally printed and mounted on 2mm plastic backing. This type of mounting vastly reduces reflection off the print.

Each image is 11" by 14" in a 16" by 20" archival mat for easy framing.

If you would like, we can frame the images and provide all hanging hardware, Images of this size are covered by acrylic, rather than glass, to prevent damage during transit.

Sorry, but these images are currently not available separately.
